In the early nineties, long before he began to build our team, eKzact founder David West dialed into the internet for the first time. Immediately inspired, his interest in how information and images were organized, designed, and displayed on web pages led him to build a career in web programming and development. Working for one of Canada’s largest real estate management companies at the time, his earliest foray into contributing to this growing technology was the creation of their first web presence. After learning to connect a database to a website and building a directory of “for sale by owner” classifieds, his freelancing career would carry him through some of the most important phases in the evolution of the web.

From Freelancing to Team Building

With a growing list of freelance clients (some of whom are still with eKzact today), it was time to focus on the development of a business that could keep these clients happy and gain the esteem and loyalty of new ones as well. The assembly of a well-qualified and dedicated web development and marketing team was what the founding of eKzact was all about. It was the culmination of years of experience in web development and a desire to serve businesses in ways that many other freelancers and firms were not.

eKzact Today and Tomorrow

In 2004, at the time of eKzact’s founding, Google wasn’t the complex, integrated toolkit for businesses that it is today. However, as the concepts of SEO, paid advertising, and social media have become a part of common business and marketing practice, eKzact has evolved into a one-stop web development and digital marketing shop.
