What Does Your Web Design Christmas List Look Like?

in on

This December, you probably don’t need to buy your website a gift, but you should spend a little bit of time thinking about it. That’s because the end of the year makes the perfect occasion for reviewing what you’ve done to your website recently, thinking ahead to the next year, and making the kinds of evaluations that are difficult when you’re busier.

So, what exactly should you be looking for? Here are a few items that should be on your “web design Christmas list”:

To review your year in Internet marketing. Generally speaking, how did you do in 2013? Has your search engine position improved, or have you seen more online orders than you were able to gather in the past? Take a look at all the aspects of your business that are affected by the Internet and try to get a general sense of how you’re doing.

To decide what kinds of changes or additions might be needed. Have you been planning an upgrade to your business website that you just haven’t gotten around to yet? Or thought about writing with a new idea but couldn’t find the time? Make a few notes to yourself so you won’t forget again in the future, and then turn them into priorities for the next year.

To figure out if your website is still a good fit for your business. Occasionally, businesses change even though their websites don’t. If you have new products, services, employees, or other parts of your company that have evolved, now is a good time to make note of any areas of your site that might be affected and have them updated in the near future.

Between office parties and cups of eggnog, you should be able to find a few minutes to look through your current business website and decide what kind of shape it’s actually in. Then, you’ll know what to ask your Calgary web designer for once the holidays are over.
